The drive-over profile

The fender becomes part of the deck.

A drive-over fender is ramped at both ends and flat across the top, so a wheel rolls up and over it instead of stopping at it. On a car hauler that means a wide vehicle can track right across the fender. On a utility trailer it means the full width of the deck is usable and the fender doubles as a step.

  • Plate3/16" steel tread plate (diamond plate) throughout — cut, formed and welded by hand.

Why drive-over

Nine inches across — about the width of a tire.

That’s the whole idea. A wheel climbs the end ramp, tracks the length of the fender and rolls off the far end, so the deck stays usable corner to corner instead of stopping short at a fender you have to steer around.

Getting them on

Bare steel. Finish it yours.

A set comes as bare 3/16" tread plate — no coating to grind off and no factory paint to burn through. Clamp it square on the deck, weld it down, and paint it to match the rest of the trailer, or leave it bare. The photos below are customer installs.
